Community Activities
Explore & Develop recognises our role in the local community. We promote awareness of local services in our centres. We also encourage the children and families at our centres to recognise and value others in our greater community. This is achieved through schedules visits to each of our centres by local Police officers, Fire Brigades etc.
We also pride ourselves in offering programs that value natural resources through everyday recycling and opportunities for children and families to become involved in caring for the natural environment at the centre.
It is a goal of our business to support and promote community projects and we therefore welcome any requests from local initiatives to involve our centres in a variety of ways.

Explore & Develop Frenchs Forest learns more about Worm Farms!
June 2008.
In June this year, Explore & Develop Frenchs Forest received a visit from a Waringah Council representative who assisted with the set-up of our first worm farm . As part of the process, children became involved in setting up the worm farm and learnt more about worms along the way. In particular they learnt that worms suck their food and are blind. We also found out that worms like to live in warm, dark and moist places. The children will now monitor the worm farm and use the worm 'juice' to help fertilise our vegie patch!
The 'Echo' dragon visits Explore & Develop Glenmore Park!

Wednesday 21st May 2008.
On Wednesday the 21st May the staff and children at Explore & Develop Glenmore Park had a surprise visitor from the Penrith Council's Sustainability Program. The eastern water dragon named 'Echo' and council representatives talked with the children and staff about water conservation and looking after our environment. Children and staff used this opportunity to do some planting at the centre, with a little help form 'Echo' the dragon. After all the hard work, the children sang a few songs for 'Echo' and thanked him for the visit and all his help!
